Originally, this web site was the home of my business, Artisan Education, LLC. Artisan Education hosted two weeks of computer programming summer camp using Lego® education kits and the icon-based programming language, Scratch. Since I began teaching (again) at my local community college, I have closed the business to focus on my kids, my college courses, and various other artistic pursuits. I teach college students during the school year (librarians rock!), but also have an opportunity to work with middle school-age campers during the summer. It’s the best of both worlds.
Since closing my business at the end of 2016, I now use this site to practice my writing, keep track of all of my interests, and share what I’ve learned in the process.
In a more traditional sense, I hold a master’s degree in library and information science, an AMS-accredited Montessori credential, and have more minors than any undergraduate should possess: English, History & Secondary Education. Do you think I like reading? Yeah…just a little! I also enjoy sewing and knitting, but I am currently polishing my writing and drawing skills. And then there’s French: a language that is destined to plague me for all time. Nevertheless, I continue to return (over and over) to its punishing grip!
